Jetty. Corfu. Still one of my favourite images from 2016 is this picture of the jetty on Nissaki Beach in Corfu. This is one of those inevitable subjects any photographer is going to walk past on that first day on the beach knowing they will be coming back many times. And I did. I could actually see the jetty from our hotel room. Just a speck on the beach from that far but still there taunting me! This was the second sunrise attempt. The first time I arose at sunset I was far too early, with Albania blocking the sun for long enough for my sun bed duties to take over. But the next time I knew this and was prepared in every way. I took this picture on my Canon 6D using the Platypod Pro to lie my camera on the beach very close to the jetty. I managed to get a good 30 second exposure with no movement which was good. Misty Lake Another old image, this time a picture taken one cold winters sunset in the Lake District. This is Lake Windermere at 5pm - a complete contrast from an hour earlier now that all the boats and people have gone back into the warmth. Tree in black and white Another black and white version of a colour picture processed in Nik Silver Efex Pro. This picture was captured some time ago in the New Forest using my wonderful Canon 5D. The removal of the warm colours has led me to enhance the tones and the light, giving a purer more dramatic image. The black and white image has a different feel to the colour version. As to which do I prefer? I like both in different ways. I think that the composition is ok which helps make the image work in colour and black and white. Which do you prefer? Misty 2 This is the black and white version of the misty picture of the New Forest. I have gone with a square crop for this image, as I wanted to cut off the bottom of the reflection, as to go with perfect symmetry seemed too obvious. I have lightened the mood even more in this black and white version produced using Nik Silver Efex Pro. The colour image had a nice light bright airy feel to it, which is exactly whatI was after, which I have taken even further with this edit. This is another picture from my 2007 collection which I have re-visited recently as part of a major overhaul of my catalogue of images in Lightroom. Cove Fish This is the shop you walk past just before you get to the spectacular Lulworth Cove down here in Dorset. Most people walk past the shop on their way down to the Cove, and may call in to this shop on their way back. I am a photographer.
