Rick McEvoy Photography - Interior Photographer

I have published a new interior photographer web page which can be viewed at the link below.

www.rickmcevoyphotography.co.uk/Interior-Photographer.aspx

Rick McEvoy LBIPP - Interior Photographer, Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks, Dorset and Hampshire

I specialise in photographing the built environment, and work exclusively in the commercial, industrial and property sectors.

Interior photography can be challenging, and I often find myself squeezed into a corner trying to get the best view, even with ultra-wide angle and sometimes fish-eye lenses!

Interior photography is a specialism itself within architectural photography, but broadly speaking I am looking to achieve the same outcome - an accurate rendition of the space showing the key features and highlighting the architectural intent of the design.

I have recently started a new interior photography service, 360 degree panoramas. This is an exciting new challenge for me, and I will be producing a new web page to cover this area of work in 2015. In the meantime look out for some new panoramic images on my website in the very near future.

I am also working on the Google Business View programme, providing 360 degree panoramas to businesses which are published on the companies Google + and Google Local pages.

This page of my website contains 5 interior photography images, showing how I portray the interior space to its best with a range of compositional and processing styles.

1 - The Shard, London

Interior Photographer Rick McEvoy

This image was taken from the public viewing gallery in the Shard, showing the stylish interior against the spectacular city of London backdrop. I tried to create a nice, clean, natural feel with this image, taken in the RAW format with minimal correction in Lightroom. The daffodils add a nice splash of colour and provide an organic contrast to the scene.

2 - Lola Lo Bar, Bournemouth

Interior Photographer Rick McEvoy

The next image is a bar interior in Bournemouth from a commercial shoot. I wanted this image to have an ultra-sharp, almost surreal feel to it, so took the image from a low than normal angle. The time spent on composition as ever has paid off, and a bit of extra processing work has enhanced the colours and given the shot that modern sharp and dare I say night clubby feel?

3 - Chideock Manor Library

Interior Photographer Rick McEvoy
Interior Photographer Rick McEvoy
I photographed the library for a lovely commercial shoot in West Dorset. The library has recently been constructed as an extension to a private residence. The library is designed and constructed to a very high standard, with incredible flair, sensitivity and detailing by the architect producing a stunning interior, brand new but from a time gone by. Very careful composition means that this image has not been cropped at all.

4 - Chideock Church Dome

Interior Photographer Rick McEvoy

If this Dome was in Paris or Rome people would be flocking to see it. It is in the lovely West Dorset village of Chideock, tucked away on a side road out of the village. The Dome has recently been replaced with this stunning new addition. To photograph this I had to lie on my back with my tripod just above my face to fir it all in - this is with a 17mm focal length! I will be returning with my new fisheye zoom lens to re-photograph this absolutely stunning dome interior.

5 - Country kitchen, Dorset

Interior Photographer Rick McEvoy

This shot was part of a set taken for a private house holder who wanted to have control over the images and the marketing of their fantastic country house. The kitchen opened up on gardens to the rear of the property, which was absolutely amazing but challenging photographically. The exposure value range across the scene was more than a single images could handle, and as I wanted to produce a natural image HDR was not an option to me, so careful exposure along with old fashioned darkroom skills produced a technically excellent image.

Finally, a little bit more about Interior Photographer Rick

My interior photography work is carried out for commercial property owners, architects, landlords, estate agents, construction companies and developers in Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks, Dorset and Hampshire. I always use Canon pro DSLR equipment, and process all the images myself using Adobe software. I use natural light and tripods wherever possible, with the only exception being where there isn’t enough actual space for me and my tripod to actually fit - small rooms, plant rooms and stairs being the usual culprits. I do have other bits of kit to get into these spaces though!
I produce a draft set of low resolution edited images for approval within 72 hours of the shoot - often much quicker. I will not give you hundreds of images to plough through, just what you asked for.

Rick McEvoy - Industrial Photographers in Dorset and Hampshire

I have updated my industrial photographers web page with new text, and new images. The new page can be viewed from the link below.

Rick McEvoy LBIPP - Industrial Photographers - Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks, Dorset and Hampshire

I have worked in industry all my working life, so am familiar with industrial environments including;
Live construction sites
Chemical plants
Nuclear installations
Utility operations
Major factory installations
Commercial diving
Working at height
Working in confined spaces
Working in excavations
General commercial and industrial premises

The images on this page of my website are a small selection of industrial photographs I have taken, including some images which are new to my website.

Captain Lock, Dorset

Rick McEvoy Industrial Photographers

A Jenkins Marine owned multi role spud leg pontoon vessel working in Dorset on the Winfrith sea-pipe maintenance contract. Taken on a lovely flat, calm summer day in Arish Mell Bay.

Ladder, Poole Fire Station

Rick McEvoy Industrial Photographers

This is an access ladder between floors in the training building built at the new Poole Fire Station. I wanted this image to be quite stark and contrasty, deliberately blowing out the exit point at the top.

Rooftop Plant, Poole, Dorset

Rick McEvoy Industrial Photographers

Contained within an external, open plant room on the roof of a major new building in Poole is cooling plant manufactured by Airwell in Italy. This image is taken immediately after installation, and has been processed to produce this striking, sharp contrasty image.

Twin Sails Bridge, Poole

Rick McEvoy Industrial Photographers

Probably my favourite bridge. This is a close up of one of the two moving bridge sections taken with a telephoto lens at 300mm. This is an interesting image as it shows the metal deck which is now covered with tarmac, so this shot was possible for a limited time only, and a great record shot.

Shoreline Engineer, Poole

This boat is a steel catamaran work vessel which is used in the marine construction industry. The catamaran design gives uncluttered working deck areas, improved stability and precise manoeuvring.

More about my industrial experience
It is this familiarity with industrial and construction environments that allows me to efficiently and effectively produce high quality photographs recording accurately and realistically these specialist environments.

I have my own PPE (adequate for general industrial and construction requirements) and can work in industrial environments in such a way as to minimise the impact of my presence on your operations.
I always provide a very high quality professional photography service and high quality images.

Hampshire Photographer Rick McEvoy

I have completely rewritten the Hapmpshire Photographer page of my website, which you can view at the link below.

www.rickmcevoyphotography.co.uk/Hampshire-Photographer.aspx

Rick McEvoy LBIPP - Hampshire Photographer

More about me, professional Hampshire photographer Rick McEvoy
I specialise in architectural, building, commercial, construction and industrial photography, and the vast majority of my work is in Dorset and Hampshire. Any further afield and the travelling time makes me either have to charge more even worse or compromise on the time I need to provide a high quality service and high quality images.
My other web pages tell you more about the range of professional photography services I offer, so this page is all about the five images I have chosen from the thousands of Hampshire images I have in my catalogue.
I have recently gone through my Hampshire catalogue, and have selected and edited much more than the 5 images you see, of which 4 are newly edited photos taken some time ago.

The New Forest, literally

The New Forest, Hampshire Photographer Rick McEvoy
The New Forest, Hampshire Photographer Rick McEvoy
The first image on my scrolling Hampshire gallery was taken in 2007 on my then brand new Canon EOS5D and 24-105mm F4L lens. The fact that the aperture used was F4 reminds me how much I have learnt since then. All the same the image is pleasing to the eye, receiving only a light touch of Lightroom editing.

Bracklesham Bay Sunset

Bracklesham Bay, Hampshire Photographer Rick McEvoy

The next image is something of a contrast, the sunset at Bracklesham Bay. The only additional work outside of Lightroom was reducing the noise, which I do with a separate plug-in. As I learn more about photography I concentrate more and more on composition, which is the one thing that can make or break an image. The lines and composition in this image really work for me.

Spinnaker Tower, Gunwharf Quays

Spinnaker Tower, Hampshire Photographer Rick McEvoy

Another new image, again newly edited, and again a different view from the numerous long shot views that appear when you search Google Images. Composition and careful exposure mean editing is kept to a minimum again, just how I like it! The composition was intended to highlight the sheer scale of the structure, which I feel I have achieved.

Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth

Walk away from the Spinnaker Tower along the waterfront, and this is the view that greets you looking inland. This is actually Gunwharf Quays. Boats, a crane, skyscraper and even a Cafe Rouge make this a lovely shot of a contemporary waterfront development. Nice and sharp and vibrant.

Palace House, Beaulieu

A stunning old building, and now a popular venue for weddings and functions. A sharp, crisp and as ever technically correct image of this lovely old building, photographed one quiet late January day. This building used to be the 13th century Great Gatehouse of Beaulieu Abbey, and is now one of the 10 Treasures Houses of England.

My other Hampshire photographs

I have an extensive range of photographs taken in Hampshire, architectural, commercial and landscape photographs taken for clients and for stock photography use. The stock photography images are also used for books, magazines, advertising and are also sold as fine art photography for display in both the home and the office.

More about Rick McEvoy - Dorset Photographer

I am a professional Dorset photographer. I pride myself on providing the highest quality professional photography services in locations including Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks, Lilliput, Canford Cliffs and Branksome Park. I specialise in architectural, building, commercial, industrial and property photography.

My Dorset photographer page includes images taken in the county of Dorset. I also have pages specific to Bournemouth, Poole and Sandbanks, as well as a couple of other Dorset pages. This page features some of the most famous landmarks in Dorset. Some of the viewpoints are familiar, and some are a bit different.
Durdle Door is the first image in my Dorset Photographer gallery. Without doubt one of Dorset's most famous landmarks, this stunning image was taken one cold winters evening at sunset. There was just enough light to catch the detail on the rock before it disappeared into the shadows. Portland can be viewed in the background, with the sun setting over Weymouth.

Clavell Tower features next, one of my favourite locations overlooking Kimmeridge Bay. This shot was taken from some distance, with the very deliberate composition setting the recently relocated tower within its countryside setting. The natural materials in the tower are complimented by the lovely warm light.

Lulworth Cove - all of it. To manage to capture all of Lulworth Cove in one shot is no mean feat - it is larger than a lot of people think! Another famous Dorset landmark taken from a slightly different view, with a nice warm feeling that comes from the winter sunset.

Portland Bill Lighthouse - another iconic Dorset landmark. This Lighthouse was brought into use in 1906, and originally was an inaccessible lighthouse. The construction of the road to it turned it into one of Dorset's most popular tourist attractions. You can find out more about the lighthouse at the Trinity House website.

Finally, the most recent addition to the list of famous Dorset Landmarks, the Olympic Rings. Made from Portland Stone, the rings have been returned back to Portland having been on view outside Weymouth railway station during the 2012 Olympics. Their new home is a spectacular location on Portland Heights.

A bit more about the Corporate Photography work carried out in Bournemouth, Poole, Sandbanks, Dorset and Hampshire by Rick McEvoy Photography.
The vast majority of my photographic work is carried out in the commercial sector. I have photographed most types of corporate premises, inside and out, and have also carried out head shots for companies for their websites and brochures.

On every shoot I focus on providing high quality images.

On this page I have included a variety of corporate property images, showing a range of pro digital photography skills.

I love the first shot of the sign in front of the Shard for the Shangri La Hotel. Everyone else at the Shard is looking up, and I was looking around and spotted this little gem. This image deserved a bit of additional work to produce an end product I am delighted with.

Corporate Photographer Rick McEvoy
The next shot is one of those familiar look up shots taken at Canary Wharf. Again ultra-modern buildings deserve ultra-modern, sharp image processing.

Corporate Photographer Rick McEvoy
Next up is the RNLI College in Poole. I have included this shot to show that interesting images can be taken even when it is cold, grey and cloudy. It is not possible to do every commercial shoot in perfect light in England.

Corporate Photographer Rick McEvoy
Or Edinburgh come to that. So if it is cloudy one other option is to go in a completely different route and produce a completely different image. This is a highly stylised shot which I have again included to show the range of images I can produce if required.

Corporate Photographer Rick McEvoy
Finally an image that goes completely the other way, a soft image of the main stand at AFC Bournemouth featuring the logo of the main sponsor.

My commercial experience

I have over 30 years of professional working experience in industry in a variety of public and private bodies so am familiar with and comfortable in corporate environments.
I can photograph your corporate event small or large, individual presentations, large groups, major events or premises openings.

I provide a very high quality professional photography service, and pride myself on providing images quickly to satisfy the brief. I have never missed a client deadline. I take all the images myself, and can make the most reluctant subject appear relaxed and happy to be photographed. I also bring a lifetime of photographic experience to my work. I process all the images myself.
